BIOGRAPHY

   Tadeusz Domanowski is one of the most interesting Polish pianists of the young generation. Vladimir Ashkenazy, a famous pianist and conductor, voiced the following opinion about him: „Listening to Tadeusz Domanowski, I was deeply impressed by both his great talent and devotion to music.” Another legendary pianist, Lazar Berman, said: „Tadeusz Domanowski is a mature musician of great creative potential.”

    Tadeusz Domanowski was born in Gliwice.  He started his artistic education at the age of nine at the Gliwice School of Music, in the class of Professor Danuta Rafik.  In 1999, he graduated from the Zenon Brzeski Secondary School of Music, in Warsaw, where he learned in the class of Professor Marczella Erigina. He is also a graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music, in Warsaw, where he studied under Professor Andrzej Stefański.

    Tadeusz Domanowski continued his education actively participating in numerous master courses run by such pianists as Menahem Pressler, Lazar Berman, Stephen Kovacevich, Jerome Rose, John Owings, Pavel Gililov, Vladimir Viardo, Aldona Dvarionaite.

    Tadeusz Domanowski has won various piano competitions: the Steinway Competition in Hamburg, the International Balys Dvarionas Competition in Vilnius, the IBLA Grand Prize in Italy, as well as many all-Poland piano competitions (Warsaw, Konin).

   He has given concerts in several countries of  Europe, America and Asia, such as Germany, France, Italy, Great Britain, Sweden, Greece, the Czech Republic, Romania,  Moldova, Lithuania, Russia, China, the USA, to name but a few. He has given recitals and performed as a soloist with symphony orchestras at numerous festivals in Poland and abroad. These include the following festivals: the Rybna Musical Summer, the Polish Piano Festival in Słupsk, the Polish Festival "Talents' Week" in Tarnów, the International Chopin Festival in Nohant (France), the 26th Harbin Summer Music Festival  (China), Martisor 2003 Music Festival in Chisinau (Moldova), the Music Festival in Bad Gandersheim (Germany),  Ionio Festival Paolo Carrer  (Greece), the Bebersee Festival (Germany). Being distinguishes in 2008 by the European Central Bank, he was invited as the only instrumentalist from Poland to participate in the Cultural Days Festival in Frankfurt am Main.

    Tadeusz Domanowski has also performed as a chamber musician in a number of music festival in Poland and abroad: Talentinum 2000 in Zlin (the Czech Republic), Days of the Polish Culture in Stockholm (Sweden), the Arsenal Nights Festival (Poland). In 2000, he received an invitation from the world famous violinist and professor at the Peter Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, Marina Jashvili to accompany her in a cycle of monographic concerts devoted to the chamber music by Johannes Brahms. During the concerts, which were held in Poland and Russia, they performed all the sonatas for violin and piano written by the composer. Tadeusz Domanowski has also collaborated with the Silesian Quartet and the National Philharmonic Quintet.

    He has also participated in a cycle of TV programmes broadcast by the Polonia TV channel, performing piano and chamber music pieces written by Polish composers. In addition to that, he has recorded many archive piano compositions by Beethoven, Chopin, as well as compositions by various contemporary composers for the Polish Radio. He has also recorded  pieces of music for the Radio France, France 2 and the TV channel “Mezzo”.
